It is 1999. I’m on a date with my wife, we’re leaving the movie theatre in Sedona, Arizona on an unseasonably brisk evening, we’re not more than twenty steps outside the doors before she turns to me coils and releases a burst of energy as she exclaims “That was AWESOME!!”
Even if The Matrix wasn’t the groundbreaking, genre-bending, generation defining masterpiece that it objectively is, that reaction would have made it my favorite movie forever.
I’ve seen this movie so many times, but I never get tired of it.
