Wonderful story introducing the Ruination chamber that focuses on the loss of humanity over time as the Stormcast are continuously reforged with a haunting undertone of family trauma, loss, and redemption.
The main enemy in this novel is marketed as the Skaven, hence the tide. However, in a lot of ways it felt like the main Stormcast characters were fighting an internal struggle far greater than any external threat, no matter how fucking cool the blind assassin rats were.
Absolutely loved every minute of this novel!
